iPad 3 Rumors |
|
Why are people getting excited over the iPad 3? There wasn’t much difference between the first iPad and the iPad 2. There isn’t much more you can do. Sure, they added a camera. Do you really want to be the guy standing at a concert taking pictures on your iPad? I have actually seen a guy taking pictures in an art museum with an iPad. He looked silly! There are so many rumors going around about the iPad 3. Some of this excitement is coming out of CES, but Apple hasn’t said a word about an iPad 3 so why get excited about something you can only speculate about? Mashable posted a list of rumors. Let’s take a look at those rumors. High Resolution ScreenPlease note that ALL of these are rumors. They are rumors because Apple won’t even speak to these accusations. That sounds bad… they are all good things, and it will make the product better. But without a drop in price, it might still be too much for the average consumer to consider. Anyway, one rumor that has been floating around is a high-resolution screen. They did that with the iPhone a couple of versions back, and it was a pretty impressive update. Although I don’t remember what it used to look like, I do know that when I first switched it was a major difference. SiriSiri is the voice recognition software that came to the iPhone 4S. Not sure if that is what the S stands for, but Apple won’t comment on that either. Anyway, Siri on the iPhone is pretty dumb. It’s fun to play around with, but if I am driving and I want to call someone, the process of activating Siri and speaking the name, hoping Siri will recognize, isn’t worth it in my opinion. Just turn on the phone and call like you normally would. Don’t get me wrong, Siri is neat. But it’s still in beta and is WAY too new to get that excited about. I think Apple would be silly to put it on the iPad unless it was out of beta. Price CutsThis happens with all devices, not just Apple products. When something new comes out, the stuff that isn’t quite as good usually goes down in price. The laptop I own today was $2,500 when I bought it. I bet I couldn’t sell it for half that now. That’s just a default of technology. There is also talk of cheaper models that come out with the release of the iPad 3. I highly doubt Apple would do that. You don’t worry about the price when you buy an Apple product. Apple fans don’t ask, “how much”… they just hand over a credit card. Anyway, I am still using the first generation. I use it every day. I have no reason to switch. There isn’t much they could add, if anything that would make me want to upgrade. I would like to see the iPad make/take phone calls. If there was a way to combine my iPhone to my iPad and allow me to use the same data plan… then count me in. But that won’t be happening any time soon. Do you have an iPad? Which version and do you plan to upgrade if and when the iPad 3 comes out? Source: http://mashable.com/2012/01/13/ipad-3-rumors/#433677-Price-Cuts-on-Previous-Models |
